Surf Gate

Surf Gate™ is Cobalt’s wave-shaping technology that creates a clean, surfable wave on either side of the boat. Using high-speed hydraulic actuators at the transom, it deploys instantly to control water flow and form a consistent, rideable wave without shifting ballast or passengers.

How does it improve wakesurfing? Riders can switch sides quickly while maintaining wave quality, speed, and balance for a more controlled and predictable experience.

What makes it different? Surf Gate is fully integrated with Cobalt’s surf hull and Volvo Penta Forward Drive (FWD), enhancing wave length, height, and push while delivering a smoother, more refined ride.

Surf Controls

Cobalt Surf Controls simplify wakesurfing with intuitive, touchscreen-based wave management. Set your speed, choose your rider profile, and the system automatically adjusts ballast, trim, and surf settings for a consistent, dialed-in wave.

How does it work? Pre-set profiles like Mellow and Steep give you a starting point, while fine-tuning options let you customize wave shape and performance to your preference.

With a tap on the Garmin Glass Cockpit, the driver can switch the surf wave from side to side instantly, even while underway, creating a seamless and controlled riding experience.

Volvo Penta FWD

Cobalt’s surf performance starts with the Volvo Penta Forward Drive (FWD) system, featuring forward-facing, counter-rotating propellers positioned safely beneath the boat. This design pulls the boat through the water rather than pushing it, improving acceleration, control, and overall efficiency.

How does it enhance the experience? The FWD system delivers smoother power, better fuel efficiency, and a more stable ride, while reducing noise and exhaust for increased onboard comfort.

What makes it ideal for wakesurfing? With the propulsion system positioned under the hull, it improves wave shaping and responsiveness, allowing for quicker adjustments and a more consistent, customizable surf wave.

Surf Ballast

Cobalt surf boats use integrated hard ballast tanks to add weight and enhance wakesurf wave size, shape, and consistency. With up to 2,350 pounds of ballast, the system helps create a longer, more powerful wakesurf wave for riders of all skill levels.

How does ballast impact the wave? Increasing weight deepens and lengthens the wave, while adjusting ballast levels allows you to fine-tune performance based on crew size and riding preference.

What makes Cobalt’s system effective? Hard ballast works in unison with Surf Gate, the surf hull design, and Volvo Penta Forward Drive (FWD) to deliver a balanced, customizable wakesurf wave without compromising ride quality.

Ballast systems vary by model. Not applicable to R33 Surf and R35 Surf.

AutoDeploy Galley

A hidden boat galley that deploys at the push of a button. Features a sink, grill, and storage while saving space when not in use.
