Cobalt Dealer Spotlight

Dealer Spotlight – Village Marina

Being the world’s single-largest Cobalt Boats dealer doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a dedicated team of passionate people working hard every day to deliver an ownership experience that keeps customers happy and keeps Cobalt boats looking like the day they left the showroom.

We spoke with Mark Brick, owner of Village Marina, to learn what a typical day looks like at Village Marina at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. First, a quick introduction to Village Marina.

About Village Marina, the Largest Single Market Cobalt Dealer in the U.S.

Village Marina is central Missouri’s only authorized Cobalt Boats dealer. Established in 1968, it holds the distinction of being the longest continuously operated marina at Lake of the Ozarks.

While Cobalt Boats is Village Marina’s primary new-boat offering and main source of new sales, the marina also represents several other boat brands to ensure a wide range of boating needs are met.

In addition to new and pre-owned boat sales, Village Marina offers boat rentals, slip rentals, and full-service maintenance and repairs. The property is also home to Boathouse Lakeside Bar & Grill, which can be accessed by road or directly by boat. Guests enjoy local favorites like blackened fish Po’Boys, hand-breaded tenderloin, candied shrimp sliders, and wood-fired pizzas, along with a full-service bar known for its signature Bloody Mary.

Getting an Early Start at Village Marina

Each day at Village Marina starts early. Activity begins down at the docks, where technicians and staff are already waking boats up and preparing them for the day. Engines warm while other boats undergo bow-to-transom inspections, and detailing teams work across the marina polishing gelcoat and preparing boats for customer visits.

Inside the office, the sales team is getting ready as well. Schedules are reviewed, demos are prepared, and the docks are walked in anticipation of the first arrivals.

By mid-morning, Village Marina is active from end to end. Deliveries of parts, supplies, and showroom inventory arrive as customers stop in for fuel, quick questions, or showroom visits. Service technicians move constantly between the parts counter, boat lifts, and lakeside test runs, keeping everything running smoothly.

According to owner Mark Brick, this level of coordination comes down to experience and consistency.

“Our success is due to our consistency and the fact that we have teams who have been doing this right for years,” Mark said. “Everyone knows their role and the standard of service we expect. More importantly, they know what it should feel like to own a Cobalt. While we run the dealership like a family business, our teams understand that our customers have world-class expectations, and they deliver on that every day.”

Knowing the Customer by Name

As important as daily operations are, Mark emphasized that the real strength of Village Marina lies in its relationships with customers.

Beyond delivering excellent service, the staff takes pride in knowing their customers personally. “It’s the technician who knows every customer by their boat name, and the launch crew who joke with slip customers like they’ve known them for twenty years,” Mark shared.

Boating is fueled by passion, and at Village Marina, enthusiasm is part of the job. “Our salespeople might spend half a demo teaching boating basics and enjoying every second of it, while our receptionist somehow knows what’s happening everywhere, all the time,” he added.

“The team works hard, but they also have fun. Whether it’s celebrating a big delivery day, laughing as someone backs a trailer for the first time, or helping a family take the perfect dock photo when they pick up their new boat, those moments are what keep customers coming back year after year.”

Why Village Marina Customers Choose Cobalt Boats

Village Marina has seen particular success with larger Cobalt models, including the 30SC as well as boats across the A-Series and R-Series. According to Mark, customers are drawn to these models for similar reasons.

“They offer space for everyone onboard, luxury details that feel custom, ride quality that turns rough water into a smooth highway, and the power and elegance that make every arrival feel special,” he explained.

Cobalt Boats also align naturally with the Lake of the Ozarks lifestyle. “Cobalt Boats allow owners to fully enjoy the lake,” Mark said. “That might mean cruising quiet coves, running big water, enjoying calm morning rides, or pulling up for sunset dinners at places like Coconuts, Backwater Jack’s, or Tap & Grill. For many buyers, a Cobalt becomes their floating vacation home and their go-to place for entertaining family and friends.”

A Hub for the Lake of the Ozarks Boating Community

Village Marina is deeply connected to the Lake of the Ozarks boating community. “Village Marina is where the lake’s boating community comes together,” Mark said. “Families, long-time locals, weekend visitors, and serious boating enthusiasts all cross paths here.”

From dock parties and fireworks to poker runs, AquaPalooza, and long holiday weekends, Village Marina plays an active role behind the scenes. The team supports events, hosts gatherings, helps slip customers prepare for busy weekends, and serves as a trusted resource for boaters across the lake.
